We are seeking a dedicated, experienced auto mechanic to join our repair team. In this role, you'll maintain and repair automotive vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of auto mechanics and experience with advanced diagnostic tools. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair various vehicle systems including brakes, steering, electrical, cooling, transmissions, and drive trains.
- Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, D.O.T inspections, and fluid top-ups.
- Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot engine and system malfunctions.
- Handle repairs and replacements of components like radiators, alternators, turbochargers, sensors, starters, DPF systems, and HVAC systems.
- Undertake bodywork, including painting and interior maintenance such as seat and cabinet replacements.
- Maintain clear communication with management regarding repair statuses, safety issues, and parts inventory.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained according to factory specifications and comply with all federal and state regulations.
- Conduct test drives to verify the effectiveness of repairs and respond to road calls for on-site repairs as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in diesel mechanic roles; 5+ years preferred for advanced positions.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and computers.
- Specific certifications (Duramax etc) are a bonus.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work in various physical conditions.
- Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
- State/ASE certification is highly valued.
- Must own personal tools suited for auto mechanic work.
